On August 19, the Soka Chorus won the Silver Award at the 2006 Singapore International Chinese Choral Festival held at the Singapore Conference Hall. Co-organised by the Choral Association (Singapore) and Singapore Press Holdings, the bi-annual event attracted a total of 31 choirs, including choirs from overseas, like Taiwan, China, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, participating for the first time. The Soka Chorus presented three pieces, including one original composition.
