On August 9, 2014, a total of 640 performers from Singapore Soka presented two magical performances during the Show segment of Singapore’s National Day Parade (NDP) 2014.
Themed “Our People, Our Home” and held at Marina Bay Floating Platform, the parade celebrated the 49th anniversary of the country’s independence and was attended by over 27,000 people including President Tony Tan Keng Yam and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.
Some 540 performers from SSA Men Division and Women Division kicked off the NDP 2014 Show segment with their Act One performance titled “Celebrate It!”, which celebrated Singapore’s peace and prosperity built by the collective efforts of her people.
A 100-strong marching band contingent from SGS’s Young Men Division Courageous Musicians and Young Women Division Fife and Drum Corps took to stage in Act Four. Themed “Be It!”, their vigorous and hope-filled performance called on Singaporeans to come together as one united people in harmony.
This is SGS’s 29th participation in the annual event.
