On 31 January, SSA staff from the Communications and Community Relations paid a courtesy visit on PPIS (Persatuan Pemudi Islam Singapura) or The Singapore Muslim Women’s Association, a Muslim women NGO with a mission to inspire women and strengthen families founded since 1952.
Mdm Rahayu Mohamad, President of PPIS, hosted the visit by SSA. In her sharing, Mdm Rahayu introduced the three core community services of PPIS; namely Social Services, Women Empowerment and Children Services. With 16 centres island wide, the services work together to provide a quality and holistic support as well as developmental programmes for women and their families.
During the exchange, SSA also shared about the three core pillars of SSA community outreach based on Peace, Culture and Education. This year also marks the 15th year of Soka Volunteers Group’s formation since 2004, which spearheads various programmes and outreach benefiting the elderly and less privileged, in addition to other community projects with like-minded organisations. Both organisations look forward to forging close partnership to contribute to the well-being of society.
