The Soka Women Centre (SWC) at SGS Headquarters has been buzzing with activities every Wednesday and Friday since March!
On 11 March, over 200 people participated in the Soka Women Lecture, titled “Empowering Women in the Digital Age” held in-person at the SGS Headquarters.
On 1 June, SGS Women Division (WD) collaborated with the Tampines Neighbourhood Police Centre to organise an anti-scam talk for Lily Group members (WD members aged 60 years and above).
On 20 March, over 1,000 people participated in the online virtual Soka Women Lecture, titled “Collaborating to solve the Climate Crisis”.
This year marks the significant 15th anniversary of the naming of the Dendrobium Kaneko Ikeda (DKI) orchid since 27 February 2007.
On 21 November, over 900 people participated in the virtual Soka Women Lecture that discussed on the topic “Families Emerging Stronger: Overcoming Family Issues and Coping with Stress Arising From Covid”. The lecture was held in collaboration with Fei Yue Community Services, with the Ministry of Social and Family as one of the activities in support of the Year of Celebrating SG Women.
On 13 March, more than 680 people participated in the online Soka Women Lecture 2021 that discussed the theme, “Strengthening Our Emotional Resilience Beyond Covid-19”.
In celebration of the International Women’s Day, SSA women together with our community partners, launched a Women for Peace movement, with the hosting of a Women for Peace Interfaith Symposium on 9 March 2019 at the SSA Headquarters.
