On 15 August 2011 – a day following the Prime Minister’s National Day Rally Speech 2011 – 4 SSA youth representatives participated in a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) organised by the People’s Association Youth Movement (PAYM) at the People’s Association Headquarters to discuss key points of the Speech.
Hosted by the young Grassroots Adviser Dr Chia Shi-Lu and members of the PAYM Central Youth Council, the FGD brought together some 150 youths aged 15 – 35 from various youth organisations to discuss current issues and national policies raised.
SSA participant Chia Meng Hwee related the rewarding experience: ” I think it was a good platform to hear other youths’ concerns and views on national issues. I am truly appreciative to both PA and SSA for such an enriching and wonderful experience.”
