SSA Hosts Camp Culture Participants

After the Lotus Sutra Exhibition (LSE) was held at the Arts house from October 1st to 25th, it continued to be shared with community from November 1st to 18th at the Singapore Soka Association Headquarters, where 3 levels of the building were transformed into the exhibition ground.
On November 20, Singapore Soka Association (SSA) supported the Singapore Management University’s (SMU) Wee Kim Wee Centre, in organising the Third Annual Ikeda Peace and Harmony Lecture at the SMU School of Law Function Hall, which was filled with over 800 people. The attendees included representatives from SMU and SSA, as well as members of the public.
As of the 25th and concluding day of the Lotus Sutra Exhibition (LSE), a grand total of 51,155 people visited the exhibition at the Arts House.
Over 35,000 visitors have viewed the Lotus Sutra Exhibition as of October 18, achieving a 15,000 increase over six days, an average of 2,500 visitors per day over the past week!
After 11 months of intensive preparation involving some 4,000 volunteers, the Lotus Sutra – A Message of Peace and Harmonious Coexistence Exhibition was officially opened on 1 October, 2017, at The Arts House.
On May 4, 2017, SSA General Director Tay Eng Kiat, Chairman Michael Yap, and three Community Relations staff paid a courtesy visit to Acting President Mr Tan Lee Huak at the Singapore Buddhist Lodge (SBL).
On April 7, SSA General Director Tay Eng Kiat and four SSA Community Relations staff paid a courtesy visit to Imam Habib Hassan Al-Attas at the Ba’alwie Mosque.
SGI President Ikeda became the first recipient of the Wee Kim Wee Gold Award at the second Wee Kim Wee-Soka International Seminar on Global Peace and Understanding held over two days on February 23 and 24 in the Administration Building of the Singapore Management University (SMU). This award was in recognition of his contribution to global peace and endeavours in treasuring humanity and diversity.
About 40 SSA youths from the Student Division (SD) and Soka Volunteers Group (SVG) were involved in Roses of Peace 2016 (RoP 2016), a youth-driven interfaith project organised to spread the universal message of love, peace, harmony and kindness as advocated by all faith groups.
