President Ikeda Receives Appreciation Award by Chinatown Chinese New Year Celebrations Committee
In appreciation of his 50-year leadership on the movement to achieve world peace, the Chinatown Chinese New Year Celebrations Committee presented Soka Gakkai International President Dr Daisaku Ikeda a recognition award at the opening ceremony of the Chinese New Year celebrations on the 23 January 2010. The award serves as an affirmation of Dr Ikeda’s efforts of promoting peace through arts and culture activities.

Mercy Relief and Ba’alwie Mosque Commend SGI President Ikeda; SSA Presents Goodwill Award to Esteemed Friends
On November 18, humanitarian organization Mercy Relief presented a commendation to SGI President Daisaku Ikeda for his inspirational leadership. SSA Chairman Ong Bon Chai received the commendation from Mr T K Udairam, Chairman of Mercy Relief, at a meeting held in the presence of some 2,000 SSA members and guests at the SSA Headquarters.

Through the various collaborations between the Singapore Management University (SMU) and SSA since 2005, much rapport and trust has been established between the two organizations.
