After two months of intensive training and preparation, the SSA Youth Expedition Project (YEP) team departed for Yunnan on 19 May 2019 for a 15-day educational and cultural exchange in a school at the Diansha village, Yunnan.
On 14 April, SSA hosted youth and mentors from the Mangala Vihara Buddhist Temple at the SSA Headquarters, hosted by SSA General Director Tay Eng Kiat and youth representatives, as part of their learning journey.
In celebration of the International Women’s Day, SSA women together with our community partners, launched a Women for Peace movement, with the hosting of a Women for Peace Interfaith Symposium on 9 March 2019 at the SSA Headquarters.
On 31 January, SSA staff from the Communications and Community Relations paid a courtesy visit on PPIS (Persatuan Pemudi Islam Singapura) or The Singapore Muslim
On 24 November 2018, SSA was invited to speak at the inaugural Tampines GRC Inter-Racial and Religious Confidence Circe (IRCC) event held at the Tampines Primary School.
On 10 November 2018, SSA participated in an interfaith Harmony Day event organized by the Bahá’í Community and Cashew IRCC based on the theme “Building Communities & Transforming Society”.
In conjunction with Racial Harmony Day, a group of 28 Secondary Four students and 2 teachers from Gan Eng Seng Secondary School visited the Senja Soka Centre on July 19, on a learning journey to understand more about SSA and deepen their appreciation of different faiths in Singapore. They were hosted by three SSA members from the SSA Educators Group.
On April 25, SSA hosted 26 staff and volunteers from Assyafaah Mosque at the SSA Headquarters as part of their Learning Journey, to continuously discover and learn best practices in programmes that serve the community.
On January 27, SSA Management Committee Vice-Chairman Mr Lee Cheng Wee led a team of eleven SSA youth representatives to participate in the inaugural National Inter-Racial & Religious Confidence Circle (IRCC) Convention at the Suntec Convention Centre.
A group of 78 students from Temasek Secondary School visited Senja Soka Centre as part of the programme in Camp Culture 2018 organised by OnePeople.sg on January 16, 2018.
