On May 5, 36 SSA volunteers spent a heart-warming afternoon with 20 female senior residents from the St. Andrew’s Nursing Home (Henderson) “SANH”, engaging them over music, songs and personal makeovers based on the theme “Little Nyonya”. This is the 2nd year SSA is partnering with SANH to bring joy to the elderly.
After two months of intensive training and preparation, the SSA Youth Expedition Project (YEP) team departed for Yunnan on 19 May 2019 for a 15-day educational and cultural exchange in a school at the Diansha village, Yunnan.
On 21 April, some 110 volunteers from the Soka Volunteers Group (SVG) gathered at the Tampines Soka Centre to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the formation of the group.

Into its fourth year, the Annual Wee Kim Wee-Soka International Seminar on Global Peace and Understanding was held over two days from 8-9 March, at the Singapore Management University (SMU).
In celebration of the International Women’s Day, SSA women together with our community partners, launched a Women for Peace movement, with the hosting of a Women for Peace Interfaith Symposium on 9 March 2019 at the SSA Headquarters.
On 15 and 16 February, 240 participants from SSA Regional Headquarters 6 and 8 performed in the Opening Item “Singapore Bicentennial – “Our Past, Present and Future” at the Chingay Parade 2019 that carried the theme “Dreams Funtasia”.
On the second day of the Lunar New Year of February 6, the SSA’s Soka New Century Orchestra (SNCO) and the Soka Chorus performed at the Istana Open House in the presence of President Halimah Yacob and her husband, bringing much festive cheer to the Istana grounds.
